Don't you just hate those welfare cheats
My favorite irony (of the moment, there are so many, such as the Bush/Cheney/GOP modus operandi of putting “Party” members over all important policy decisions which is/was the chief evil of Communism) is that there are still hordes of voters that vote for the GOP because they hate having a perceived group of poor shiftless welfare persons having access to their tax dollars.
Meanwhile every eight years or so the banking elite go on a tear and wipe out the financial industry’s capital base. Usually the banks replace their capital by upping car loan rates and mortgage rates but between the savings and loan debacle and our present derivatives catastrophe a trillion dollars of the voter’s money has vanished ….giving bonuses to the guys who screw them over and over again. A trillion freeking dollars.

Bush and Bernanke push corporate socialism
Now Bernacke and Bush recommend a stimulus to replace the missing equity capital in the financial system. How can this not be called socialism? Or is socialistic tinkering with the system to protect the rich called a stimulus package while providing health care is oh so unAmerican.
The nation's debt has skyrocketed from six to nine trillion dollars under Bushco and as a legacy for his last year he will oversee spending a couple hundred billion dollars we don't have to bail out his cronies.
Meanwhile a useful scorecard to watch is that the Pound and the Euro continue to soar against the dollar even while Europe provides a social net for the health and retirement of their workers.
We get to inject billions into the economy in an act of corporate socialism; Wall Street takes out $57billion and yet helping the poor with medical bills and heating costs remains a danger to the American psyche.
As they say: "Go figure."

Crashing Dollar - Silver Lining
This is the Bush enviromental plan at work.
Increase deficit and off-the-books' war spending to create record level obligations to the Chinese, eventually whacking the dollar. Oil prices soar to $6.00 US (Franc and Euro no increase) and hybrids, walking and bikes come into vogue.
Our McDonalds fat kids' crisis beautifully abates as a cunning benefit of the process.
Ta da! One man's incompetence is another man's silk ear.

Burning security assets not new to Bushco
Dim wittery, dim wittery, dim wit do doo
Feed Fox news propaganda,
that's simply not new.
Dim wittery, dim wittery, dim wit do doo
If burning security serves politics,
Then that's what we'll do.
Let's see. Fifteen of the 911 terrorists were Saudi, an Egyptian, Lebanese and two UAE. So, destroy Iraq. dim wit do doo. Burn Valerie and disclose a huge U.K. terror investigation while it's in progress. Dim wittery do doo.
In the Bush White House where politics trumps truth in all respects including science, economics and medicine, burning a non GOP controlled security asset is like someone picking their nose. It's considered gross but the 'picker' isn't even aware of what they're doing. Thus spoken, operatives feeding the amoral Bush Cheney propaganda machine wouldn't even recognize that wrong was being perpetrated.
To coin a phrase. For these mutts, "All security is political."

Imagine if Bush Cheney Kristol had succeeded
Worse than all the losses to America from the criminal incompetence of Kristol/Bush/Cheney etc was that they set out to enthrone Chalabi as the new Iraq leader. It turned out that he is thick as thieves with Iran and simply 'played' these guys. I mean, like, if their plan had come to fruition we would have been even worse off. It boggles the mind.

Allah or Ally?
The story's told that once upon a time George Bush, Rummy and Darth Vader happened to visit a Mosque at evening prayers.
Rummy turns to Cheney and says, "Why does the President seem so happy?"
Cheney faintly lights up his malicious leer and says, "He thinks they're repeating ally, ..ally."

"Olde Europe" Opinion on Bush's 'Gift' for Foreign Policy
By Bloomberg News
July 31, 2007
Germany's ruling Social Democratic Party said President Bush's plan to sell arms to Saudi Arabia and five other states in the Gulf is misguided and myopic.
Mr. Bush "is obviously gifted in the way that he always picks exactly the wrong approach in foreign policy and security matters," Hubertus Heil, general secretary of the Social Democrats, which is in coalition with Chancellor Merkel's Christian Democrats, told a news conference in Berlin yesterday. "It's short-sighted and irresponsible" to distribute weapons in the Gulf region.

Bush Applauds Pope’s World Peace Message

Bush..Character and Iraq Responsibility
And there was the point in W's remarks last night to the Press where he said, "I asked the Military (Tommy Franks) if we had enough troops to do the job, including doing the job after we had defeated Saddam and the answer was yes."
His Father, the CIA, General Shinseki and Colin Powell told him the truth which he ignored or in the case of the General Shinseki, he fired as he rushed pell mell into the neocon nightmare.
Now he is reconstructing that he at least asked the right questions, that the debacle is not his fault. This is actually quite sad.
If he admits the truth that he, in conjunction with Cheney, Rumsfeld and many others, for reasons still not wholly understood, deliberately went against the advice of the majority of experts then he has to say, "I am to blame."
It is a hell of a choice.
He can admit the truth that his plan and planning was incompetent and made America less safe and less respected. He can admit the truth that he, as Commander in Chief, in the end, bears the ultimate responsibility for this horrendous misadventure.
Or he can cling to a concocted excuse that once upon a time, after he had dispensed with all contrarion voices, that he did ask a General "Do we have enough troops?"
The whole world knew prior to Bush Jr.s' elections that he had in his lifetime established no record of integrity, courage and character.
We should not expect him to display such ethical fortitude now.
It's sad for George W.. It's sad for his family. And it's sad for America and all Americans.

The Blivet Presidency
The majority of Americans, both highly informed and barely informed, are now comfortable stating that George W. Bush is incompetent.
The politically active voters are fully aware that what once passed for a Bush strength, that he rarely changed course, has now been unveiled as the cornerstone of his incompetence.
Over and over again he and his crew have offered political slogans in lieu of reasoned action policies only to be dragged to ignoble defeat and capitulation to the forces of reason allied against him.
An image comes to mind for me. Ten pounds of propaganda in a five pound bag, our very own "blivet" presidency.

Bush is welcomed to Hel(l): "Lucky we"

My Polish friends want favored status visa relationship with U.S. so they don't have to put up big bucks, big application and then in trepidation wait and wait. They might hate Bush and demonstrate openly for democratic causes but you know what?
If our thug administration will relax visa requirements, these Eastern Europeans will vote to send a few thousand troops to Iraq. (And turn a blind eye to rendition in their country.....?) This is realpolitik.
Meanwhile our "What can I do to trash Democracy and embarrass America today President" will annoyingly create congestion in downtown Gdansk.....and irritate the residents.
This is the realpolitik of city traffic and a most unpopular President.
From the Press: Antiglobalists announced they will protest during the president’s visit near the residence. They plan to bring signs saying “Welcome to hell” in English. ( Source: Tricity Gazette Poland)
The tri-city police in the metropolis are advising drivers not to use their cars on Friday after midday. Privileged vehicles columns driving through the city, will cause many road closures.
Drivers in Hel (...) will be most affected.

The Iraqi duty extension: Clunk!!
It seemed odd that the three month extension was announced prior to briefing the troops. It also seemed odd that it had no political content attached to it. It made me wonder if Gates had his own agenda and was walking outside the politically lockstep Bush administration.
Now I learn that the extension, which highlights a broken military and more Bush/Cheney incompetence, was leaked before it could be tuned up in the GOP propaganda shop.
I absolutely love it. It makes me laugh.
The briefing to the troops should be,"Sorry guys that we have to increase the chance of your tired asses' dying by 25% on this rotation but we've screwed this occupation thing up from the beginning and well, we're sorry."
The result of the leak appears to be the odd victory for truth over the Soviet style propaganda apparatus pronouncement we have come to expect from 'reality central', i.e. the White House.
"It's all the fault of the people that are trying to bring you back home," they could have said.

"The Thinker"
Perhaps we now know why the shrub failed to respond when he was told during that reading of "My Pet Goat" that our nation was under attack.
Under this guy and his cronies nothing gets done until the political commissars give the green light. He waited. What response brings us more control and power, he asked himself. What spin comes to mind?
What would George do if a toilet overflowed? Or perhaps it already has.

Purgegate: More Bush/Rove Soviet Style Thuggery
Bush/Rove/Cheney/Gonzalez Commissariat
Political appointees oversee science (FDA & global warming) in this administration.
Political appointees botch, bungle and butcher Iraq reconstruction and Katrina relief.
Political appointees are sent into the CIA executive suite for a political cleansing mission.
Political appointees set up a propaganda office in the DOD to deliberately and maliciously mislead the nation into war while refusing to plan for known obstacles ultimately leading to thousand of troop' deaths and injuries.
The hue and cry over Purgegate is that the Justice Department has traditionally been significantly and honorably immune to rank political interference. Not under our presently governing thugs.
Despoiling democracy and honor while emulating a Soviet/Communist Commissariat model government is the operational and ethical basis of Gonzalez and his handlers.
Good news. If politicizing the Justice Department finally brings out the backbones of our legislators, Republican and Democratic alike, shout hosannas. Citizens of the entire planet sincerely want the America that strives for honor, honesty and equal treatment under the law to reappear.

"Mayan priests (in Guatamala) will purify a sacred archaeological site to eliminate "bad spirits" after President Bush visits next week, an official with close ties to the group said Thursday. "

BAKER FLUMMOXES HANNITY: RIPS BUSH FOREIGN POLICY

Tell A Friend
James Baker, the globally accomplished diplomat and former GOP Secretary of State under Reagan totally flummoxed the cartoonish GOP bagman, Sean Hannity.
Point blank, Baker said that given the choice between waging a war or a foreign policy solely restricted to establishing a new democracy in the Mid-east or alternatively pursuing policies of stabilizing the region, policies of stabilization were preferable.
Hannity tried to parry this heretical bashing of Bush's core foreign policy talking point with the usual GOP gobbledygook propaganda such as "this is "World War III" and "this is a fight against Islamo Fascists." Baker seemed uninterested in Sean's offer of GOP red meat talking points and he continued.
Paraphrased as best I can, Baker said, "Given the choice between engaging America's forces based on a principle (i.e. 'democracy') or based on establishing stability, stability is, all things considered, the superior objective.
Not yet finished shredding the inept Bush, Rice, Cheney foreign policy, Baker continued by basically saying that not engaging in talks with America's enemies was nuts and sophomoric (my words). He recounted that he personally visited Syria almost twenty times and on his next visit Syria abandoned their twenty-year-old policy towards Israel and agreed to sit with Israel in negotiations, de facto recognizing their existence.
(The original reporting by me came from simply switching to Fox during "Brittany/Paris" gossip type reporting on MSNBC then me having my mouth drop open as Hannity was dosed and flummoxed with non GOP red meat talking points by Baker.)
Op-Ed news took it as an 'Article" and it received 40,000 hits world wide.)
